The world collapses after a technological catastrophe, leaving cities in ruins and most people turned into the undead. You are one of the few left, holed up with other survivors in a shelter that must be protected at all costs.
Gameplay centers on base defense. You choose weapons, improve them with upgrades, and reinforce barricades at the entrance. Place machine gun towers to thin out crowds and cover blind spots. Waves of zombies and mutants attack, so you manage resources between assaults and plan your build. Every round is about holding the line a little longer and keeping the shelter safe.
